Science!

Last night Jenny and I tried an experiment. We wanted to see if the whole countercloskwise draining in Australia was true or not. So we flushed the toilet and watched. It just looked like a lot of water. Next, we filled up the bathroom sink and watched. Hmm.. clear water...white sink... we needed contrast. So we got a tea bag, filled up the sink and put a few drops of tea in to follow the journey from sink to drain. We tried it a few times and determined a couple clockwise and a couple counterclockwise. Sadly, our results are inconclusive. We can confirm that things do drain in Australia, however, we have no idea which way. We will try again.

This sounds like a TV show in the making. Nice to hear you are taking in all Australia has to offer. Can you tackle that other down under myth about boxing kangaroos?

Maybe your perspective was all wrong. Since Australia is on the the other side of the world, maybe standing on your heads and watching the water swirl by would've given you the results you were seeking. Or stick Rachel's head in there and see which way the water goes down. :) Love, Rachel's Big Sister

While Deb has a unique perspective on Rachel's abilities to influence the way water flows, my take on this is just tell Rachel that water flows because of the effects of electromagnetic currents. Then tell Rachel to put on her little tin foil helmet with the two antennae, and Voila!, the water will flow counter clockwise.

I'll work on the boxing kangaroos. We head to the outback early next week so I'll see what I can work out.

Simon will give a Kangaroo a go. Bring one back and we'll see what damage Simo can do...
